Abflug Frankfurt Auf geht's ...

On Saturday morning five pupils from Regiomontanus Gymnasium and their two teachers Alexandra Weber and Jörg Thelenberg met at the train station to travel to the capital of Poland as part of a European Erasmus Project with students of five nations. At 6.50 it was time to say good-bye and get on the train to Würzburg and then Frankfurt Airport, where they boarded a flight to Warsaw and landed there at 14.45. As the official programme for all partners began only on Sunday, there was enough time for a relaxed first look around Warsaw and to get a first idea of what Poland would be like. After eating in the City we decided to go back to the hotel on the southern outskirts of the city using public transport – which is interesting in a country where you can’t understand the signs – but we got ther all right with our own interpreter Andreas (who speaks Polish!) and the help of a nice young architect. He lives in Warsaw and is responsible for the renovation of old architectural complexes in the city, some of which he showed and explained to us while put us on the quickest route home. So we got a quick overview of Warsaw as it was before 1939 before we got back to our hotel at about 23.45, where we went to bed to be prepared for the following days.
