This is the mediation about "Der Schuh des Manitu"
 +
Hi,
 +
 +
How are you? How is your German course going? Speaking of your course, I had a look at the movie you were asking about and I have tried to summarize the scene.
 +
 +
This is a scene from a German movie called “Der Schuh des Manitu” which is a parody of German western movies of the 1950s and 1960s which revolved around the adventures of an Apache Native American and his white friend.
 +
In this scene the Apache Abahachi and his white friend Ranger are tied to a pole in a Shoshone camp because they are suspected of having killed the chief’s son and stolen money the tribe has lent them.
 +
Abahachi tries to defend themselves by reporting about the events that led to the son’s death:
 +
In the desert Abahachi and Ranger were conducting business with Santa Maria who was selling them a house when the chief’s son, Falscher Hase, arrived to give Abahachi a loan, so that he could buy this real estate as a club house for his tribe.
 +
They had to find out that the building was actually a fake and that Santa Maria had scammed them. As a consequence Falscher Hase tried to get away with the money. He however didn’t make it because Santa Maria shot him in the back and killed him.
 +
After Abahachi has finished his report, they chief isn’t convinced of Abahachi’s innocence, as he has been influenced by Santa Maria, who turns out to be a “friend of the tribe”.
 +
Although the events in the scene seem at first quite serious, they are bursting with humour as Abahachi reports with a Bavarian accent, which ridicules the whole plot, as Indians in North America certainly didn’t speak Bavarian.
 +
On top of that the humour is caused by exaggerating each character in order to poke fun at the original western movies which were based on novels written by Karl May. Where those movies were meant to be taken seriously, this parody is supposed to be a comedy. Especially Abahachi and Ranger, who rather behave like an old couple because of all their bickering at each other, ridicule the aspect of the friendship between Winnetou and Old Shatterhand in the old German movies.

I hope that this is helpful for your presentation in your German course. If you need any more help, please don’t hesitate to say so.
 +
Hope to hear from you soon!
 +
Yours…..

This is the mediation about "Der Schuh des Manitu" Hi,

How are you? How is your German course going? Speaking of your course, I had a look at the movie you were asking about and I have tried to summarize the scene.

This is a scene from a German movie called “Der Schuh des Manitu” which is a parody of German western movies of the 1950s and 1960s which revolved around the adventures of an Apache Native American and his white friend. In this scene the Apache Abahachi and his white friend Ranger are tied to a pole in a Shoshone camp because they are suspected of having killed the chief’s son and stolen money the tribe has lent them. Abahachi tries to defend themselves by reporting about the events that led to the son’s death: In the desert Abahachi and Ranger were conducting business with Santa Maria who was selling them a house when the chief’s son, Falscher Hase, arrived to give Abahachi a loan, so that he could buy this real estate as a club house for his tribe. They had to find out that the building was actually a fake and that Santa Maria had scammed them. As a consequence Falscher Hase tried to get away with the money. He however didn’t make it because Santa Maria shot him in the back and killed him. After Abahachi has finished his report, they chief isn’t convinced of Abahachi’s innocence, as he has been influenced by Santa Maria, who turns out to be a “friend of the tribe”.
