Thougts on the election in Germany

My opinion on the election in Germany is, that it's a good electionresult, because my favorite party was/is FDP at the moment.

So the 'Black-Yellow Koalition' is maybe the best Koalition for Germany.

Der unvermeidliche Grund dieses Krieges und der folgenden ist der amerikanische Hingabe zu Autos.

Im frühen 19ten Jahrhundert ersetzten Busse die Trambahnen und Busse wurden von Autos ersetzt, indem General Motors die restlichen Trambahnen aufkaufte um diese zu schließen.

Autos boten die Möglichkeit von dreckigen und vollen Städten in Vororte mit viel Grün zu entkommen die über Freeways verfügen, die als Fluchtwege dienen. Deshalb verwandelte sich Amerika in eine Nation von Hausbesitzern, die in riesigen, weitverbreiteten Vororten leben und es dadurch unmöglich wurde die wirtschaftlichen Leistungen mit Hilfe des öffentlichen Transportwesens zu tragen. Heutzutage ist der amerikanische Transportsektor weitestgehend vom Öl abhängig und die Vorräte gehen aus. Amerika braucht Öl und Saddam Hussein saß auf der weltweit zweitgrößten Ölquelle.

1.1 The congestion related problems in and around Birmingham is the additional time exposure, when you want to got to work by car, because the congestion doesn't make it possible to be in time. Moreover it is very difficult to find a parking lot, because there are not enough parking lots. Another problem caused by the congestion are the overfilled trains and buses, when people want to leave their cars in the garage to use the public transport system. But the public transport system could not bear the big rush demand on their trains and buses. The consequences are delays of trains and buses, so that they can't run according to the shedule.

1.3 A rhetorical mean used to make this article interesting and convincing is the hypophora, or rhetorical question, mentioned at the end of the first paragraph. The author put a question that he answered promptly afterwards. This rhetorical mean attracts the reader's attention and the reader wants to know, if the question is answered in the following paragraph. Another rhetorical mean in the text are the anaphoras like "congestion". This word is repeated several times at the beginning of a sentence. The effect is, that the reader get to know what the contentual focus is.

Composition: In the foreground you can see a dinosaur with the face of a car's front. Moreover the dinosaur has got a lot of features of a car, for example an exhaust, side-mirrors or a gas cap. Furthermore „US Auto Industry“ is written on the dinosaur. It seems, that this lettering stands for US car industry in general . On the top of the dinosaur, a fat man with a flag in his hand is sitting on the dinosaur. Perhaps the flag stands for the patriotic attitude of the Americans. The man looks very helpless and he doesn't has the chance to steer, because there is no steering wheel. In the background a salesman says „Be proud to buy and drive an American automobile!“. The salesman looks very confident. The cartoonist wants to express the obsolesced American automobile industry in form of this dinosaur. Although the technique of American cars is old fashioned, the car is advertised to be a good car. The salesman and the man on the dinosaur aren't even interested in the technique of the car, considerably more attention is focused on the fact, that the car is an American car. The helpless man on the dinosaur shows, that he doesn't know what features the car have and that he only wants to buy the car in fact that it is an American model and he is a very patriotic man. What the artist seems to say is, that American people are very patriotic and stick with the American automobile industry, although the industry doesn't do anything to satisfy their customers. The industry doesn't invest into the development of the technique of cars, because they know, that their customers buy their cars, even when the cars are old fashioned. The cartoonist critizised that the patriotism of the people in the US is bigger than the complusion to force the automobile industry.

Trotzdem setzten wir, mehr denn je, die scheinbar aussichtslose Suche nach unserem Ideal eines verlorenen Paradieses fort. Heute, während die Bibel des des Backpackers "Lonley PLanet" ihren 30. Geburtstag feiert, ist das Streben nach Abenteuern niemals mehr verbreitet gewesen. Exotische Ziele, die für die Durchschnittsfamilie der 70er außerhalb ihrer Möglichkeiten waren, sind jetzt leicht zu erreichen. Ursprünglich war der Reiseführer ...?... – eine Gegensatz zum Luxus konservativerer Ferien. Trotzdem ermöglichte der berühmte Reiseführer Lonely Planet die Möglichkeit für die Masse, indem er solche abgelegene Reisziele erschloss. Die Autoren waren glücklich genug voller Inspiration zu sein, zur Zeit zu der sich der Urlaubsmarkt dramatisch wandelte.
