The Dos and Don'ts of interviewing

DOs use correct English offer a firm handshake and display self-confidence (try to) be friendly ask high-yield questions (things that have to be explained) look the person in the eye be prepared (collect information about the artist) try to use the 5 w's speak loud and clearly tape the answers ask them about their earlier life ask them for the motives and what their art expresses ask for role model, influences .... start with general questions => ask more detailed questions (about work, art etc.) check your equipment first

DON'Ts mumbling displaying intolerance or prejudices asking too complex questions asking yes/no questions spitting being too late being indecisive letting them look directly into the camera confusing them with the camera or soundeffects using a loud or hectical place showing a lack of interest asking too intimate questions stinking fumbling
