Expectations

Expectations the American people have

A good page on which you can read what americans expect from Obama

Hopes

The hopes of the muslims

An very interresting page about the muslims hopes

The election in Germany

  • The "Wahl-O-Mat" said that I should vote the FDP. Because of that I think the result of the election is good and I hope that the coalition of CDU/CSU and the FDP will bring us out of the crisis successfully.
  • The reason why the SPD lost so many votes is that the people think that they aren´t comunistic any more and that´s the reason why the "links Partei" got more votes than the SPD.

the hopes of the muslims

  • they want to be increased in the parliament
  • they want more explicit statements of support from the president-elect
  • better civil rights for muslims
  • the want that Obama will rethink the United States' support for Israel
  • A harder line against Israel

Love Quotes

  • Love is like a mustard seed;

planted by God and watered by men

  • Love is like a mountain,

hard to climb, but once you get to the top the view is beautiful.

  • Love is not blind - It sees more and not less,

but because it sees more it is willing to see less.

  • Love is like the sun coming out of the clouds

and warming your soul.

  • Love is a moment that lasts forever...
  • Love isn't blind; it just only sees what matters.
  • Love that is true never grows old.
  • Love reminds you that nothing else matters.
  • Love is a decision not an emotion or feeling,

that if made from the heart will outlast anything...

  • Love is more than a feeling;

it's a state of mind.

  • Love is like a blazing flame,

golden and full of warmth.

  • Love is like a piece of art work,

even the smallest bit can be so beautiful.

  • Love is like war: easy to begin but very hard to stop

Characterization of Romeo

Romeo is the son of the Lord of Montague and he is one of the main characters of the play. He is about 20 years old. At first he loves Rosaline but thats the reason why he feels very sad because of the fact that his love Rosaline (l.195...I do love a woman) does not return his love. The words ...I have lost myself, I am not here, This is not Romeo, he´some other where stress his sadness(l. 188-189). In this talk he wallows in self-pity and is very depressed. Then he talks about love and the fact that love is unfair and confusing, because Rosaline doesn´t love him. You can also see that Romeo is brave because he goes to the party of capulet which are the enemies of his family. On this party he sees Juliet. That´s the reason why Romeo´s infatuation with Rosaline ends(Chorus). Now he is in love with Juliet.

Angela´s Ashes A Memoir

  • author: Frank McCourt
  • year of publication: 1996
  • theme:Recounting scenes from his childhood in New York City and Limerick, Ireland, McCourt paints a brutal yet poignant picture of his early days when there was rarely enough food on the table, and boots and coats were a luxury. In a melodic Irish voice that often lends a gentle humor to the unimaginable, the author remembers his wayward yet adoring father who was forever drinking what little money the family had. He recounts the painful loss of his siblings to avoidable sickness and hunger, a proud mother reduced to begging for charity, and the stench of the sewage-strewn streets that ran outside the front door. As McCourt approaches adolescence, he discovers the shame of poverty and the beauty of Shakespeare, the mystery of sex and the unforgiving power of the Irish Catholic Church. This powerful and heart-rending testament to the resiliency and determination of youth is populated with memorable characters and moments, and McCourt's interpretation of the narrative and the voices it contains will leave listeners laughing through their tears.
