+ | Composition: | ||
+ | In the foreground you can see a dinosaur with the face of a car's front. Moreover the dinosaur has got a lot of features of a car, for example an exhaust, side-mirrors or a gas cap. Furthermore „US Auto Industry“ is written on the dinosaur. It seems, that this lettering stands for US car industry in general . On the top of the dinosaur, a fat man with a flag in his hand is sitting on the dinosaur. Perhaps the flag stands for the patriotic attitude of the Americans. The man looks very helpless and he doesn't has the chance to steer, because there is no steering wheel. In the background a salesman says „Be proud to buy and drive an American automobile!“. The salesman looks very confident.
+ | The cartoonist wants to express the obsolesced American automobile industry in form of this dinosaur. Although the technique of American cars is old fashioned, the car is advertised to be a good car. The salesman and the man on the dinosaur aren't even interested in the technique of the car, considerably more attention is focused on the fact, that the car is an American car. The helpless man on the dinosaur shows, that he doesn't know what features the car have and that he only wants to buy the car in fact that it is an American model and he is a very patriotic man.
+ | What the artist seems to say is, that American people are very patriotic and stick with the American automobile industry, although the industry doesn't do anything to satisfy their customers. The industry doesn't invest into the development of the technique of cars, because they know, that their customers buy their cars, even when the cars are old fashioned. The cartoonist critizised that the patriotism of the people in the US is bigger than the complusion to force the automobile industry.

Composition: In the foreground you can see a dinosaur with the face of a car's front. The cartoonist wants to express the obsolesced American automobile industry in form of this dinosaur. What the artist seems to say is, that American people are very patriotic and stick with the American automobile industry, although the industry doesn't do anything to satisfy their customers. The industry doesn't invest into the development of the technique of cars, because they know, that their customers buy their cars, even when the cars are old fashioned. The cartoonist critizised that the patriotism of the people in the US is bigger than the complusion to force the automobile industry.
