- biscuit Biscuit is another/the British word for cookie.
- He can fly! He "can" fly means the same as "He is able to fly".
- tools Hammers, shovels, forks and knives are tools.
- wonderful Wonderful is another word for "fantastic" or "great".
- weather report The weather report tells us what weather we will have on the next day.
- fruit Apples, bananas, oranges and strawberries are fruit.
- You mustn't drink so much. You "mustn't" drink ... means the same as "You are not allowed to/may not drink so much".
- intelligent Intelligent is another word for "clever".

Basic techniques you can use to explain vocabulary:
- xy is another word for ==> sentences 1, 4, 8
- xy means the same as ==> sentence 2 (better, if you must explain more than one word ...)
- a, b and c are ... ==> Use examples! ==> sentences 3, 6
- xy does this or that/ is ... ==> Explain what the thing/person does or what it is! Use relative clauses! ==> Sentences 5, 9
- xy is the opposite of ... ==> Use opposites! ==> sentence 10
